Ok. So we haven't had our baby yet but at least we know what it is and I am excited! I went to my first-ever ultrasound! It was quite amazing. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen; my own child in the womb of my beautiful wife!
So we were in there and the tech was looking around the belly and stuff. We were talking and I was a little surprised that she didn't just get straight to showing us the gender. In fact, we were in there for probably 20 minutes before I asked if we could see the gender. She stated that she wasn't sure we wanted to know and that was why she didn't show us earlier. It didn't take long for her to get to that area of his body and it certainly didn't take long to know what we had. WOW! :)
Anyway, so I'm excited that we are having a boy. I wasn't sure what I wanted. A big chunk of me was hoping for a girl because I relate to girls better having grown up with them all of my life. Another part of me wanted a boy to carry on the family name. Once I learned we were having a boy I was very excited. Now we have a lifetime of joy, sadness, hard times, etc ahead of us. Right now I'm reveling in the moment knowing I am going to be the biological father to a little baby boy in the next few months.

Jim! I'm sooooo excited for you. I totally understand what you mean when you say you wanted a girl because of being raised with girls. Funny, I felt the same but wanted boys because I liked my brother so much growing up (notice the past tense hahahaha!!! JUST KIDDING!) But like you when I saw that we were going to have a girl, oh stars and stripes the joy was overwhelming and it was sooooo right on perfect! I'm so excited for you and I love you! I'm proud of you...so much!
