So I finished my 31E (cage kicker) training today and let me tell you this; before this training (I'm a 31B) I had no desire whatsoever to go to this class. In fact, nobody did. Our command (brigade) is making all of the MPs go to this training. Now that the training is done I can assure everyone of this one thing: I still have even less of a desire to be an echo, now, than I did before this course. I mean, what a waste of time this couple of weeks has been. I have only two years before the end of my contract in the Army. I am heavily leaning toward not re-upping. There will have to be a significant reason for me to reenlist. Right now I have greater reasons for not reenlisting so like I said there will have to be a HUGE reason for me to reenlist. This class, although the instructors rocked, sucked! I hate the 31E (corrections specialist) job. It totally blows.
Anyway, we finished today and tomorrow we have our graduation. Saturday I will be home!! Next month I go to SRT (special response team) training (basically, Army S.W.A.T.). That is a three-phase school. I'm going to the first phase. I'm excited to go to that school! That should be some real training for something that is actually worth my while being there.
It's been sucky being away from home, my wife, and my kids. Things have been really weird at home so now I hope that I can get back to some kind of happy equilibrium there.
